In this affiliate marketing software demo, I’m going to show you how I used LeadDyno to broadcast a product launch announcement out to our affiliates.
If you’re looking for affiliate traffic via social media channels, this is the demo for you…
We’ll review how we update it, our social shares, so that these guys can get on Twitter and Facebook and start talking about it. How we give banner ads to promote the new offering, kept them in the loop, did an affiliate newsletter. So this is going to show you the whole product, and we’re going to show you in a real case study type example.
So if you’ve already signed up with us, with LeadDyno, what we first give you is your own affiliate website. So this is one that we host for you so that you can start sending affiliates here right away. This is where affiliates can come in and sign up for your affiliate program.
So it’s going to be listed at yourdomain.leaddyno.com. That’s where you can find it. Within LeadDyno itself, again, if you’ve already signed up under the settings option here on the left side, general account info, this is where you’re going to find the URL to your affiliate homepage.
So this homepage is something that you can brand. You can put your colors in. You can update the messaging here. Make it your own. I will walk you through how to do this in a little bit. So bottom line is this is where you can start sending people to join your affiliate program.
It’s set up as soon as you set up your LeadDyno account. We do have an option. If you’d like to embed this on your own site, you can do that as well, and we’ll walk through how to do that.
Actually, why don’t we just do that now? So I’ll show you. Under where to do this, under affiliate content, the first option here is configure affiliate website, and this is where you’re going to be able to do all that stuff that I was just mentioning. So this is where you can put in your logo. This is where you’re going to update the colors to make it a match with your site.
This is where you can put in you content and we do allow for custom CSS. We do allow you to iFrame this into your own website as well, if you’d like to do that. Okay. So once we get people set up coming into your affiliate program, what I then like to do is welcome them. And we have a series of welcome emails that you can turn on to let them hear from you and learn about your program.
If you went through our setup wizard, setup wizard may have walked you through this. But if not, here’s how you can set these up once you’re already set up with LeadDyno. So these are the automated affiliate emails here. And I would encourage you to enable all these guys.
The first one in particular is a great one as affiliate signup. You welcome them to your program. Say okay, here is your unique affiliate link. This is the link that when other people use this and click through, we’ll give you credit for it. And then the link to their affiliate dashboard is going to be the next one here.
So the link the affiliate dashboard, let me show you what the affiliate will see when they’re in here. So this is basically a one-click login that’s going to take them into their own little affiliate section. It’s going to have all of their stats for them. Their commissions. It’s going to have the tools that they can use to connect with social media, grab banner ads and things like that.
Let me go ahead and I’ll show you how we get in here. So again, I’m in the admin screen now. This is my own LeadDyno account. And if I want to check out and see how an affiliate is doing, what I can do, actually let me back up. I’ll show you someone else. So what I can do, if I want to see how an affiliate is doing, so if Sam, for example, contacts me, Sam has a website, lawyers.com.
So Sam comes to me and he says, hey, Brett, I want to know how I’m doing. So what I can do is I can look here, I can give him an update, but also what I can do is just remind him that this is the link to his affiliate dashboard. Okay. So this is his unique link. When he logs in here, he’s going to have access basically to all of his stats.
So he’ll see the number of visitors that he sent us, the number who’ve signed up for us, and the number who have bought, all of his commissions that are currently due, that are upcoming that have been paid up. We list those here too. We have an affiliate code for him that matches up with his site. So that goes into his affiliate URL here, right at the end, so it looks like it’s co-branded a link with us.
And then we’ve got ways for him to share his link. And he can, for example, email up to ten of his friends. Just click the email link here. Now you’ll notice, so this copy here, this is promoting our new Android application. So this is the product lines that I mentioned earlier.
What I did before we launched this to our affiliates is I rewrote all this copy. So I rewrote the emails. I rewrote the Facebook post. So when our affiliates like Sam come in here and they want to share it, that’s all geared towards the new product release. Okay.
So it’s going to be the same deal with Facebook. When he clicks Facebook, or when I click Facebook, what it’s going to do is it’s going to log me into Facebook. Then it’s going to have a pre-written message already to go promoting the product. It’s got my affiliate link in there so all I need to do is just click that and now I share it on my Facebook wall. And then this will go out to all of my Facebook followers here and friends.
Okay. Twitter, same deal. Twitter will log in to Twitter. And, again, this is copy that I pre-wrote. Me, being the affiliate manager. So this is what I pre-wrote for people. As they click through, we always replace the basic link with their affiliate link. And here we’re actually even sending them not even to our homepage but to a specific landing page. So that’s something that you can do with LeadDyno as well.
You can send people just to a specific product page, to a specific landing page. It doesn’t have to always go to the homepage. So if you’ve got an online store, or you can promote a specific product and have affiliates get credit for that too. Okay.
And what I wanted to finally mention is, again, if you do have an online store, your affiliate code here. This can double with a discount code, so if you want to track sales that maybe did not come through an affiliate link for whatever reason.
If you use Shopify or if you use Bigcommerce, your affiliates can tell their referrals. Say, hey, just use this affiliate code here when you come through our site, and then we’ll be able to give you credit for this here. So again, that works with Bigcommerce. That works with Shopify.
Okay. We’ve got a bunch of marketing materials here so I actually just had our graphic designer come up with some new banner ads for us and then what I do is I upload these here, and then these are now available to our affiliates to use. So as our marketing guy, I’m using these on the Google network. I’m using these on Facebook.
And why not make these available to our affiliates as well. So I’ve got all of these in here so our affiliates can come in here. They can grab these banner ads if they’d like. And then they basically just copy the HTML, give it to their web guy, or if they’re savvy enough, they can handle it and put it on their site. And then, everything, of course, again has our affiliate link in here. So all they need to do is copy HTML, put it on their site.
Okay. If they want to, as I was mentioning earlier, some people do a specific product page on our site. They could do that here. This is where they can create different links. So sub-IDs, we call them. These would be links to different sub-domains.
Just kind of go through here putting the link name, the URL, and then create these. And then they can also track the progress of each link. So they don’t only need to send people to the homepage.
Okay. One setting that we have, I give some affiliates the ability to add leads. So if they talk to somebody. In this industry there’s a lot of word of mouth. So if they talk to somebody and it may be they’re not going through their affiliate link, you can do this by affiliate types. You can say that certain affiliate types can enter their own leads.
So if these people eventually buy from us, we will give credit to this affiliate. So this is basically where they can add the leads, and basically just put an email address on their leads and that allows us to keep track of those for them.
And in the affiliate newsletter, let me show you that one actually in real time. So this is the affiliate newsletter that I sent out. And I created this in LeadDyno, and I said, hey, here’s our new app. Here’s a video if you want, a couple of screen shots. This I created from LeadDyno as well and you can do that on your end too.
That’s under the affiliate newsletter’s tab which is the last one here. So this is where you can create a new newsletter. And again, this is pretty easy to use. It’s just like any email editor. So you just type your email. You can format it how you like. You can add some pictures and such. You can invent some content, and then you’re good to go.
Okay, let me show you how we got the affiliate dashboard built up and that was from the content library. So here is where I would go if I wanted to edit that Facebook post that I showed you. So you can edit this at any time. Again, it’s good to keep this content fresh. It’s a good reason to talk to your affiliates too. So you can say, hey, I updated all the social media stuff.
You might want to pop up in there. Pop into your affiliate dashboard, I’ve got some new messages for you. That’s all under the content library. This is also where you would upload your banner ads that I showed you. So when I got the new banner ads from my designer, what I did is I came in here and I just uploaded these guys. So I just chose them from my desktop, uploaded them, made them available to the affiliates and we’re good to go.
A new feature that I want to show you here is our affiliate invitation. This is a really cool one and I would highly encourage you to enable this one. What we do is we email people after they buy from you and invite them to join your affiliate program.
So we get them to go, like I was showing you before, I get them to go to your affiliate website. We talk about your affiliate program and get them to sign up. I’ve already written this for you.
Literally, all you need to do is sign your name. If you want to put any details of the program, you’re welcome to do that. And then what we’re going to do is we’re going to email people as they buy from you and then invite them to join your affiliate program.
This is the ideal time to email them. They’re already happy with you. They’ve literally just bought and they are already inclined to want to share about their purchase. And here we’re going to say, we’d love for you to refer people our way.
And by the way, if you do, we’d love to incentivize on that one and compensate you for your effort. So this is a great way to build up your affiliate program and build it up without you actually having to do any active recruiting. You’re just recruiting your customers automatically.
Okay. Let’s briefly talk about a few of the more other automated emails, so this is going to keep guys in the loop. So they join your program. They’re all excited. They click to share on social media. Then what we do is we email them as they go. So we say, hey, you send us a new signup. We appreciate it and we’ve got it noted for you. So this is really, really cool because it lets the affiliate know that they’re getting credit for the people that they sent your way.
And same with the purchase stuff too. So when somebody buys, we send them an email. We let them know. We say they’ve got an affiliate commission and you can see it on the affiliate dashboard. So then they can log into their affiliate dashboard and they see this.
This is all updated in real time and this is really a big advantage to using LeadDyno over trying to hand track your own program is that we do keep the affiliate in the loop and again, they’re able to see everything in real time.
So this is very valuable for them. Keeps them engaged. Keeps them going and keeps them thinking about your product over any others that they may be promoting.
Okay, and then of course, the most motivating thing for an affiliate is when you pay them out. So let’s go through that briefly. So that’s going to be under pay affiliate commissions. LeadDyno, again, is tracking the commissions.
What you’re going to have here is at the end of the month, this is what I recommend. I recommend paying out once a month on affiliate commissions. And I pay out over only a certain amount. I pay out if we owe them 50 bucks or more and we’ll do it once a month.
And I just do that for convenience sake. It doesn’t take me that long to do it. I just kind of come in here and I use the PayPal Integration. So I just click the PayPal. That’s going to log me into PayPal, and that’s going to allow me to send the PayPal money out to our affiliates.
So PayPal is the quickest way to do it. It’s one click if you’re paying manually. So if you’re cutting checks or something, you can just mark it was manually paid and that’s fine. And we do support all our coin bases alternative payout methods if that’s something that you’re interested in too.
Okay, so that wraps up the affiliate portion. What I’m going to do now is I’m going to show you a quick way to track Facebook ads and Google ads using LeadDyno as well. And then we’ll get into questions.
So this is going to be under the marketing tab here and tracking campaigns. This is the other primary use that I have for LeadDyno. So not only running our affiliate program, but also tracking clicks as they relate to Google and Facebook.
As I do a lot of ad buying on those mediums, you may as well. Reason I like to use LeadDyno in addition to Adware’s conversion tracking is that I’ve already got LeadDyno tied in with our purchase system. And AdWords and Facebook, as you know, they’re not specifically tied in with a purchase system. They may be able to tell you if somebody got to a certain page, but they cannot tell you if somebody bought.
And what I really care about is if I’m spending money on an ad, I want to know if somebody bought, ultimately. So what I can do is I can use a tracking link like this. So this is the same idea as using the affiliate link, and this is going to show me specifically how many people visited our site, how many signed up, how many bought from us, and how many canceled, or we had to refund as a result of this campaign. And it will even show me specifically who it was.
Again, the beauty of LeadDyno being tied in is I can exactly see which customers we got from this campaign. So I know what I spent on this ad, and I can see exactly who bought from us how much they bought. So this gives me a full breakdown of our ad buying. So it’s kind of the other side of the coin from affiliates where affiliates, we’re getting free traffic and then we’re paying them when somebody buys from us that they referred.
On this side of the universe here, we’re buying as we’re paying Google upfront for this. And then we want to make sure that this traffic is converting for us. So I recommend using LeadDyno. I would use it in addition, and I do use it addition to the conversion tracking in the Facebook and Google.
Each provide for you. I like to match them up. I like to verify Google’s numbers and Facebook’s numbers, but I like to also like to see the level of detail that LeadDyno gives us.
And I’m happy to run through this in more detail if you would like to see this. Also happy to take questions now. So you can go ahead and take those. I’m going to our webinar panel and I’m happy to show you certain background, anything that you’d like to see. And I already had a question in there. Someone asking, we’ve got Mark asking if we have a MailChimp integration and we do.
And we actually use that integration ourselves on our other account. So it’s going to be under online tools where you can be able to set that up and connect to MailChimp. And it’s a one click connect.
Once you’re connected up, you’re good to go. And the advantage of this is that when LeadDyno captures a lead, we’ll then put it automatically into MailChimp.
You can also select which list in MailChimp that you want that lead to go to. So again, this allows you to port leads from LeadDyno, kick them over directly into MailChimp.
Okay. Can you show me how to set up the Shopify integration? Sure thing. So Shopify and Bigcommerce. These are both under our e-commerce services and these are also one click guys to set up. For Shopify, you’re going to enter your Shopify URL. So it’s going to be your store name.myshopify.com. Click connect.
For Bigcommerce, it’s one click to connect. And if you need help going through this, we do have our live chat staffed seven days a week, 16 hours a day. And you can just hit this in the lower left and we’ll have one of our chat operators will walk you through real time and help you out with that setup.
Okay. I’ve noticed that LeadDyno has other lead sources coming in. Can you tell me where those come from? Sure. So, again, this is the advantage of using LeadDyno. It’s really where all of your lead sources are coming from, not just affiliate traffic. So if I look at our latest leads here, I can see this person came from this link. So that’s kind of cool.
So what I can say is, okay, I want to check out this lead source. So I saw this person came from this link, signed up with us. What LeadDyno is going to give me also then a breakdown of this lead source. So it’s going to say, okay, so for this article here, it’ll show me how many people clicked through, how many signed up and how many have purchased from us as a result of this article. So it’s nice.
So you can see coming down the right side here, you can see all of the sources. The Google secure search, this is going to be organic search terms. Unfortunately, Google masks the specific keyword in most cases now. So it’s hard to see exactly what somebody typed in. But at least you know that they’re coming to you organically.
So again that’s the advantage of using a tracking link is that you know what ad group you put the tracking link in. So this is the URL and we can even look at the ad. So this will show me this is my first signup from this article. We got 37 visitors as a result of it and here we go. And here’s the actual article itself, so this shows where the person came from.
Okay. And it looks like that is it for questions. So thanks for joining me. If you do think of anything that I covered, you’re welcome to reply to any emails that you got from me confirming your attendance here. That will actually go back to me. Happy to circle back with you on anything.
Otherwise, as I mentioned, the quickest way to get help at anytime on our website or in the application, just click the live chat window. Our support people are very good. You may have already talked to them. And they’ll be happy to help you walk through, get things set up.
So thanks again, and I hope that we do hear from you soon. Talk to you soon. Bye.
